THE MUSIC CENTER ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIPS TO BLUE LAKE and INTERLOCHEN fine arts camps

The Music Center announces scholarships to Interlochen and  Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp for music students!

The Music Center, through a generous donation, announces the availability of scholarships to Interlochen and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp for students of the Community Music School, IMPACT program, Sojourner Truth Choir, Battle Creek Boychoir, and Battle Creek Girls Chorus.

Students must be registered in one of the Music Center’s youth programs (listed above) and must apply for the Interlochen and  Blue Lake scholarship as well.

Once a scholarship is awarded or rejected, students should complete the simple application form to apply for a Music Center scholarship by clicking here. Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis, are not need based, and will not require any financial information. The Music Center scholarship, combined with the Blue Lake or Interlochen scholarship (if awarded) will equal the total tuition, room and board, and fees for a session at Blue Lake or Interlochen, up to $5,000

Please note: All scholarships are awarded on a first come, first served basis. There are a limited number of scholarships available.

If approved, students must be registered with Blue Lake or Interlochen within 30 days of scholarship approval and must submit a copy of their registration form to The Music Center. NOTE: Payment will be made directly to Blue Lake or Interlochen on the student’s behalf. Students must remain registered with a Music Center program and be in good standing through the end of the semester or the scholarship will be forfeited.

The Music Center offers several FREE programs for students, including IMPACT free afterschool classes and the Sojourner Truth Gospel Choir. Also, for the first time this year, the Battle Creek Boychoir and the Battle Creek Girls Choruses are both offered FREE. Generous financial aid is available for the Community Music School private lessons or classes.

We’re thrilled to have this opportunity to partner with Blue Lake and Interlochen and offer Battle Creek area students the opportunity to experience a music camp!

Registration is still open for the Community Music School, IMPACT program, Sojourner Truth Gospel Choir, Battle Creek Boychoir, and Battle Creek Girls Chorus. Attendance in any of these programs is a requirement of eligibility for the Blue Lake camp scholarship. Information for these programs can be found at www.YourMusicCenter.org.

The Music Center (TMC) will pay the entire tuition, room and board, plus fees, minus any scholarship awarded by Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp (Blue Lake). Applicants must apply for the Blue Lake financial aid and indicate the results of the scholarship application on the form. The Music Center Blue Lake Scholarship, however, is not a need-based scholarship. No financial information is required to apply.

The turnaround time for financial aid from Blue Lake is about three weeks. Once you are awarded the scholarship, you have two weeks to reply, so complete TMC’s application as soon as you hear from Blue Lake.
