Excited Concertgoer

There’s good food to be found not far from W.K. Kellogg Auditorium. Plan to come early for dinner.

Kitchen Proper

If you're a foodie, then Kitchen Proper in downtown Battle Creek is a must-try. This bistro specializes in seafood and Mediterranean dishes with an excellent wine list.

Clara’s on the River

With a big menu, everyone should be able to find something they want at Clara’s. The building is great for hosting groups. It also has historical appeal, as it was once an old-fashioned train station.

Handmap Brewing Co.

Handmap Brewing is more than great beer in a cozy atmosphere. Check out the pizza menu for both classics and creative takes.

Want drinks after the concert? These places are open late for cocktails and conversation.

New Holland Brewing Co.

New Holland might have made a name for craft beer, but they get really creative with the cocktails. Spirits used in drinks are made here in Battle Creek. If you like what you have, ask about one of the New Holland cocktail making classes. The outdoor patio is covered and heated.

Griffin Grill and Pub

Griffin has pub-inspired food that ranges from fish 'n' chips to fish tacos. The bar also makes a mean mule and other cocktails or wine upon request. The pub-purists can stick with a Guinness.

Here are some suggestions for things to see, based on the concert:

Oct. 5: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Leila Arboretum will start to change color in October. But the main attraction is Fantasy Forest. Tree stumps have been turned into castles, dragons and wizards.

Nov. 2: American Veteran

Go for a mural tour in downtown Battle Creek. Among the colorful creations, there’s a tribute to Fort Custer history.

Dec. 14: Holiday Joy

Head to the Kellogg House gardens for vintage light displays depicting the 12 Days of Christmas. You’ll also see the Underground Railroad monument, the biggest statue in America dedicated to this movement for freedom.

Feb. 22: Vivaldi by Candlelight

Make it date night with a stop at Horrocks Farm Market before the concert. Drink a glass of wine while shopping for specialty food items, such as the olive oil pour bar. Pick out chocolates in an extensive candy section. And you can’t leave without making your own bouquet of flowers (or buying one already put together by the florist).

April 12: Dynamic Duo

Historic Bridge Park is an outdoor museum with multiple truss bridges on display, right by the Kalamazoo River. It’s a fun place to take photos. There is also a walking trail that begins in the park and stretches for 5 miles.
