Teachers. Mentors. Heroes. The Battle Creek Symphony honors educators with over 100 photos celebrating those who shape our world. Enjoy Ravel’s G Major Piano Concerto, Gershwin’s Someone to Watch Over Me, Lennon’s Beautiful Boy, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. A musical thank-you you’ll feel in your bones.

  • In the Ravel Piano Concerto in G, Ravel plays a trick on the audience! The orchestra all finishes the piece by playing a G, while the piano play a very low A. The pitch is so low on the piano that you can hardly tell a difference in pitch while playing with the orchestra.
  • Ravel once stated that the second movement was so incredibly hard to write that it, "nearly killed" him.
  • Beethoven was so enthusiastic during the premiere of his 7th Symphony that, while he was conducting, he would frequently jump in the air out of excitement.
